Air Deccan is offering tickets at double the price they were before, which is Rs. 6 (six rupees per ticket !) instead of Rs.3 tickets scheme that they had on their third anniversary.
After they sold 3 lakh air tickets for 3 Rs. each, on account of their 3rd year anniversary, Air Deccan has announced another 3 lakh tickets at Rs.6 each. Ofcourse, the ticket rate is just the travel fare and extra taxes do come into picture. Tax would be anywhere from Rs.900 to Rs. 1500. Which means, you be travelling by air at less than Rs.1500 to any destination.
I love the whole concept. India is a large country (7th largest) with a larger population (2nd right?) and a growing economy. There are two important things that people always want to save. Money, and Time. Call it human nature. Air Deccan gives a lets you save both ! India’s first low cost airline.
I do remember reading an article about Air Deccan in the Economic Times sometime a month or so ago. It said, the company was in losses. I remember reading an article in the inflight magazine last week, in which the Founder and Director of Air Deccan, Captain Gopinath talks passionatey about idea, and how it grew into one of the largest air carriers in India. He blamed the governement and the infrastructure around the airports for the delays and other inconvienence caused. Something we’ve heard a lot !
People have to be more forgiving and have to learn to support a cause, which in the end will prove good for them ! I’m Air Deccan fan and I can’t see any reason why I shouldn’t be. I’ve experienced bad service by Air Deccan, flight delays to flight cancellations. Have you not had bus/train cancellations in India before? Did you discontinue travelling ? For all those people who are still cribbing and complaining, thinking its a cool thing to do, I have two words, “Grow Up”.
And, btw RUSH. These tickets are sure to be sold off in a week or two. Plan your Christmas or New Year in style and buy the tickets just like I did !

People who are cribbing against bad service in Deccan simply dont know how the other costlier airlines are performing because they never dared to travel by them. You must be aware of the recent announcement by Deccan that if the flight gets delayed/cancelled they give a free ticket for any sector.
Some central authority must publish the degree of punctuality of airlines so that we have data to compare.
