You know those horrible hoardings all over Hyderabad ! I know they’ve been up since a while now, and I’ve been meaning to blog about them sooner, but never got down to it.
The previous set of Hoardings with that model were pretty decent. I mean, they were kinda shady as well, but they were tolerable. They weren’t like cheap or anything.
But these hoardings, are out of the ordinary cheap. Sleazy actually. They show a young model, posing for the photograph and on the Tshirt she wears, they have these sleazy lines written. Right across the bust.
‘ Get Both sides of the story’
‘Retail sector Boom or bust’
These are lines like, ‘ Retail FDI Boom or Bust’ , ‘ Get both sides of the story’, ‘ Rose Bud exports blossoming’, and a few other with similar double meanings.
I think its about time Deccan Chronicle kicks up their campaign with some substance. Do they really expect to generate interest in their newspaper by trying to sell sleaze? Are they trying to attract the younger generation by leading them to this?
Do they think they are going to increase they barnd awareness? Maybe they will. But definitely not the awareness they want.
Update: Got a chance to click an other hoarding. Here it goes. The line on the Tshirt reads, ‘ Institute releases vital statistics’.

In mmy opinion, DC had a nice ad team which knew tht if only datas were put up, it wont attract public/men attention. Thus thy have put a girl to cover up that lines. Now, they have thr data+a good model. Well done.But, i would say this is not the kind of ad that i expected frm your team.

I think this is cool ad, I am working on an advertising company and I think the image/lay out is pretty nice. Also the one who made this ad (team) surely loves pretty gurls. (^_^)It’s so noticesable if you were driving and pass on one of this boards.
