From what little I read online, I couldn’t find a grand unified theory for all the towns extending to a new part of the town. And looks like it’s always this part the town that has the train stations, good hotels, etc.
Anyone knows the story behind all the newness? Isn’t there New Alipore in Calcutta as well ?
