The new International Airport is finally here, and it’s chaos everywhere. Too many questions from everyone.
I landed there yesterday, and I’ll try and answer some questions for you all. If you still have questions, and think I may help, drop me a line in the comments section.
How to get there? / How to get to the city from the Airport?
- You have a few choices in that regard. There are busses run by the Airport which start from a few select points, there are taxies that you can take, and then you can always drive down and park at the Airport.
Here is a map, of how you’d get there. The color codes are routes that the Airport Shuttles take. For more information, get to the official page.

The only advice I can give at this point, is plan beforehand and keep ample time as buffer before your flight time. I took a few photos of the new Airport as well, will post them soon.

I had terrible experience in Samshabad. International passengers are nowhere cared there may be due to privitisation. I arrived there by 12.30 in midnight from Kualalampur on 9th June and my next domestic flight is by 7AM to Vizag. I was not allowed in domestic terinal till 4.30 AM. My entire family of 3 yrs child and 6 yrs child spent whole night sleepless. We are asked to stay in lobby where all the chairs are occupied by taxi drivers and airport workers for their sound sleep. There is no safety for luggage also since it is open area. How ever I decided not to opt Samshabad henceforth for further transit journeys. Further, the airport size is also not even 10% of any other standard airports like Kualalampur, Singapore, Charles De gaulle, Helsinki, Frankfurt etc. Its just hipe given by localites. I have even sent my grevience to Ministry as well as GMR head. Lets see what can be done for families like us.
