Google Gadgets on Desktop

I knew we could use Google gadgets with Google desktop, I Google, but this is more fun ! No installing anything.
This seems like fun, considering there is no need for installing any kind of setups. I love using Google IG (www.google.com/ig), but now, I can view it without even opening my browser.
One big disadvantage though, would be lack of control of the gadgets, unless you redo the whole page. You have to strip the html code, find code for new gadgets, arrange it, desgin the page and test it. And the worst part is, some of the gadgets don’t work with this feature.

Did you know that you can write a Google Gadget all by yourself? Know some basic Javascript, HTML, some CSS and most importantly XML. A gadget is basically just a XML file that tinkers around with existing web content or applications and makes it better in some way.
So, coming to the question, How to write your own Google Gadget? Very easy !

Go to the Google API for Google Gadgets page. Write an XML file for the function you want to perfom or the gadget you want to create. You can then use this gadget on your I Google homepage. You could also use this on the web, at Google pages. You could also make it web-based thanks to the latest release by Google, which allows web publishing for any google gadgets.
